Proof of Address required from May 22, 2026

• Starting May 22, 2026, Proof of Address (PoA) will be required for all KYC/KYB submissions via the API and Dashboard
  • US/Canada residents can submit a government-issued ID with address e.g. Drivers License
  • Users approved before May 22 will not be affected
• This change will speed up verification and significantly reduce Requests for Information (RFIs), improving your compliance experience

Improved Proof of Address (PoA) Submission Experience

• Screenshots are now accepted for PoA submissions, making it easier to submit digital documents such as utility bills or bank statements without converting them into formal PDFs

No Nested Flows - Effective May 10, 2026 (7AM EST)

• We’re introducing a new required field, accountHolder.isFintech, to the Create an Account endpoint.
  • If accountHolder.isFintech = true → the account will be flagged for review
  • From there, the intended use case must be clearly defined (e.g., treasury management, invoice payments, internal fund movement)
  • Payment flows will be assessed to ensure they are not nested or pass-through in nature
• What this means for you:
  • End users who intend to send funds must be onboarded directly onto the HIFI platform through the full KYB process.
  • Payments should not be pooled and processed on behalf of end users, as this constitutes a nested flow. All end users must be onboarded and their transactions processed from their named account

Transaction status and event updates

Transaction “In Review” Status

Transactions under compliance review will now show an explicit IN_REVIEW status before progressing to fund transfer states:

• Onramp: IN_REVIEW → FIAT_PENDING
• Offramp: IN_REVIEW → CRYPTO_INITIATED
• Crypto Transfers: IN_REVIEW → INITIATED

Previously, transactions remained in FIAT_PENDING (Onramp) or CRYPTO_INITIATED (Offramp) during review, making monitoring unclear.

Legacy Events Deprecated

ONRAMP.UPDATE, OFFRAMP.UPDATE, ONRAMP.CREATE, and OFFRAMP.CREATE will no longer be supported. Update your integrations to use the new transaction events documented in our Onramp events and Offramp events sections to avoid service disruptions.

Transaction Approvals for Offramps

Transaction approvals are now available for offramp transactions. You can require approval before executing offramp transactions (stablecoin to fiat conversions) to add an extra layer of security and compliance control.

Dashboard Approvals:

• Members can now initiate offramp transactions
• All member-initiated offramp transactions will always enter the transaction approval flow and require Admin approval

API Approvals:

• Offramp transactions will enter the transaction approval flow only if requireApproval: true is set in the request body

Additional details:

• For offramps that enter the transaction approval flow, quotes are generated after approval to prevent quotes from expiring while awaiting review. This matches the behavior for bridging transfers.
• Expiration times: Transactions in PENDING_APPROVAL status will automatically expire if not approved or rejected:
  • Onchain transfers (wallet transfers, batch transfers, bridging): Expire after 1 week
  • Offramps: Expire after 1 day
